Technology Description:
Energy recovery of any type of organic waste and residue, including toxic and medical waste for the generation of electric current through a process of Synthesis Gas Plant.
The implant is composed of three sub-plants:
Waste Sorting Plant; the plant is operated in a combined procedure with manual and automated work processes. The sorting of the incoming material (waste and residue) is operated manually, while the other treatment process is fully automated. The desired end product is a bulk material produced with a defined particle size that is suitable for feeding the Synthesis-Gas-Plant.
Synthesis Gas Reactor; the reactor establishes an environmentally friendly process for the production of thermally recoverable synthesis gas made from organic waste and residue of any kind. The essential advantage of this process is the production of high calorific synthesis gas from the utilization of 1,000 kg waste (assumed residual moisture content of 10%) approx. 1,000 m3 gas is produced. Synthesis gas is the substitution for natural gas or city gas for all essential applications. The synthesis gas plant is very flexible related to the character and standards of the raw material (input material). Similar processes of other plants are focused on a very tight spectrum of the charge material or on the high standards of this material respectively treatment for the material. Synthesis gas plants are able to process a wider range of waste and biomass.
Plant for the generation of electric power; quality and quantity of synthesis gas produced in the plant will be determined by the quantity and composition of input materials. Different kinds of engines are available according to the intended result.
Input products:
The plant can process any kind of organic waste and residues, such as household, hospital waste, plastic, PVC, wood, any kind of industrial waste, toxic waste, hazardous waste, waste oil, any kind of bio mass, scrap rubber, scrap tires and etc..
Output:
The syngas plant is realized in a module size of 30,000 tons input per year (each line).
Input 100.000 Tons/year of wastes.
Output approximately 11.550 m3/h of gas. From this 20MWh of electrical power.
Fully enclosed system Noise: 54 - 59 dB (A).
Technical Strengths (design, R&D, etc):
The Syn-Gas plant functions in a similar way of a pyrolysis - or biomass plant, however a pyrolysis- or biomass plant can use just a small range of input material and have problems with the emissions.
Moreover, the output consists of: oil and gas and a toxic coal tar. This coal tar from the pyrolysis plant must be disposed of a hazardous waste landfill. These problems are not part of the system here indicated.
The total output can be sold or used by thermal energy recovery for the generation of electric current. There is no hazardous waste to be disposed of after processing.
Environmental protection:
The synthesis-gas plant is a model for the environment because of the system releases no emissions at all. Moreover, the synthesis-gas plant is a CO2 neutral technology and produces no smell, no smoke gas in process and no combustion.
There is no production of dioxins as the plant operates at low temperatures (up to 930°C) and with a completely closed system and no combustion takes place.
Regarding PVC, as it is a critical input material already at low temperatures around 250 degrees Celsius decomposes, chlorine or hydrogen chloride are already free in the top of the reactor. It is removed from there to prevent chlorine corrosion. It is deposited in the scrubbers and neutralized.
